Room-Fit Guide
A few minutes with a tape measure makes delivery day easy. Here's what to measure, and a quick doorway check for every piece.
1. Measure the way in
- Doorways: the width at the narrowest point with the door fully open (from door stop to door stop), and the height.
- Hallways and corners: the width, and how much room there is to turn a long box.
- Stairs: the width, the ceiling height above the stairs, and any landing where you'll need to turn.
- Elevators: the door width and height, and the inside depth and height.
2. Measure the room
- Measure the wall or space where the piece will go, and note windows, vents and outlets.
- As a general guide, leave about 30–36″ for walkways and 14–18″ between a sofa and a coffee table.
- Mark the footprint on the floor with painter's tape to see how it feels in the space.
3. Check the piece
- Product pages list the manufacturer's overall dimensions and box sizes wherever they're published. If a piece shows none, ask us before ordering.
- Many of our sofas arrive in several boxes or compressed, so the largest box is what has to fit through your doors.
- Use the doorway check below, and contact us before ordering if anything is close.
Doorway check
Pick a piece and enter your narrowest doorway. We compare it with the manufacturer’s box and assembled measurements.
